The 211 webcam has no audio input. You should record audio with your audio input or microphone in your computer. You must have a microphone plugged. But it has to be enabled to record first.

To enable audio recording in Windows Xp:

1. Right click the Volume icon in the system tray of your Taskbar (bottom right)
2. Click ‘Open Volume Control’. Volume Control window appears.
3. Go to Option menu, and then click properties.
4. In Properties window, check Recording radio button.
5. Under ‘Show the following volume control’, make sure ‘Microphone’ box checked. Click OK
6. Check the ‘Select’ check box under Microphone. Gain the volume level if needed.

You can use Windows Sound Recorder (Start > All programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder) to test your audio recording.
